So to make it short and simple I thought I would write about a short and simple bread. Quick and easy. Low carb and low glycemic. <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<strong>Almond Butter Bread</strong></div>
<div align="left" style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div align="left" style="text-align: center;">
</div>
1 Cup Almond Butter ( or you can use your favorite Peanut Butter)<br />
3 Eggs<br />
1 1/2 Tbls. Vinegar ( I used Apple Cider Vinegar)<br />
1 tsp. Baking soda<br />
1/4 tsp. Salt<br />
<br />
Sweetener: Either 1 packet of stevia, 1 teaspoon agave or 1 teaspoon honey. You don't have to use a sweetener at all. It's optional.<br />
<br />
Blend almond butter and eggs until smooth. Add in remaining ingredients. Mix well.<br />
Pour into a greased 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" loaf pan and smooth out the top.<br />
Preheated oven. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Let cool before slicing.<br />
This will make 14-15 slices of bread. <br />
<br />
Nutritional information if you cut loaf into 14 slices. Per slice: 107 calories, 3 carbs, <br />
9 grams fat, 5 grams protein, 2 grams fiber and 1 gram of sugar (from almond butter).<br />
If you add another sweetener it will be slightly more. <br />
<br />

I love putting out coffee beans to help absorb odors at work and at home. Just a small amount of fresh roasted coffee beans works wonderfully.<br />
<br />
This time I stuffed one of my heart keepsakes with Apple Crumb Pie roasted coffee beans. Yummy, the lovely scent of coffee and fresh apple crumb pie turned my sweet tooth on for sure. My husband even said, "whatever you are making for dessert sure does smell good! Oh no! Now what do I do?!<br />

<br />
For a while now I've been wanting to try this recipe for pumpkin donuts. I even bought a donut pan to make them in ages ago. Well, I finally made them and goodness they are delicious, even without frosting and sprinkles!<br />
<br />
Whom to share them with? Grandkids! When? New Years Eve!<br />
<br />
<div style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
These pumpkin donuts are gluten free using whole grain oat flour.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Perfect for a co-worker whose family teasers her when she wears her hair up like Cindy Lou Who. I couldn't resist, I just had to make a keepsake heart for her for our office Secret Santa. Fall is in the air. This whimsical keepsake would make a great hostess gift or fun decoration. Scarecrows, pumpkins, Indian corn and other fall delights cover this charming <a href="http://thoughtfulhearts.com/index.php?page=show_products&cid=29">keepsake</a>.Franniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02087127682932134017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8403165233598080595.post-86953755406393442852012-08-14T06:43:00.000-04:002012-08-14T06:46:17.642-04:00Lesson learnedI like to take photos and notes when I work on a new illustration or sewing project,<br />
especially if it's something I've never done before. It gives me a history of the steps I took from start to finish. A reference guide for future projects. <br />
<br />
I was so excited to work on this project I just took one photo and never looked back. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAefNaNKZVC-eSVuK9UhXnuNQka5KXmTsD8fIWg7aXlBBLcdUtHm7c3pDbKQpV5gXmIw-JkUqCOJeIVeQLnrdPUE6GlYOACP3L6OgI-bZUjMlcLkFj8lQcxgTmLa8AE9Lgn9ODdYMz-4J_/s1600/IMG_7581.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAefNaNKZVC-eSVuK9UhXnuNQka5KXmTsD8fIWg7aXlBBLcdUtHm7c3pDbKQpV5gXmIw-JkUqCOJeIVeQLnrdPUE6GlYOACP3L6OgI-bZUjMlcLkFj8lQcxgTmLa8AE9Lgn9ODdYMz-4J_/s400/IMG_7581.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />After pencil and ink I used watercolors to complete the illustration. I turned the original art into a card for a friend as a gift for her cousin. Wish I had taken a photo of the finished card. Next time I will keep my camera on the drawing table. <br />
Lesson learned !<br />
<br />

Something fun, whimsical, to add to my ever growing stash of fabric. <br />
<br />
Like this baseball theme, it can only mean one thing . . . . You gotta love baseball !<br />
Yes, that's my mitt in the picture....it's seen better days. But I am always ready for a game of catch. Let's play ball ! !<br />

With remnants left over from two separate projects I randomly started sewing strips together. I ended up with this fun mosaic pattern.<br />

I've been experimenting with gluten free bread recipes for a while now. For this loaf I used almond meal, coconut flour and ground flax seed. Finding just the right combination of flours has been the hardest part of making gluten free bread. A lot of recipes call for rice flour, but I don't care for the aftertaste it leaves. This bread also has a nice texture and holds up well in the toaster. <br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK8yo_vxoY1O4Gqh2LyQC0we91HBBesIKjd5bZAIEe15-BncT4k_fQRHbnFTErVODsNmVkkbENKg_H-ecE6DRiXXkyMx7Kb94fmD2CXSu8CJHv0fk_Z2f1ECJDEGii6SUHGQuFt-JP7k20/s1600/IMG_7123.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK8yo_vxoY1O4Gqh2LyQC0we91HBBesIKjd5bZAIEe15-BncT4k_fQRHbnFTErVODsNmVkkbENKg_H-ecE6DRiXXkyMx7Kb94fmD2CXSu8CJHv0fk_Z2f1ECJDEGii6SUHGQuFt-JP7k20/s320/IMG_7123.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was given the opportunity once again to create a heart keepsake from vintage fabric. I love working with vintage fabric. The history, the colors, the texture, the sentimental value makes it so endearing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This yard or so of well worn, or as I like to say, "well loved" vintage fabric, in aqua and avocado, had seen better days.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7ew2w_rD8miA2g4u1TasKC8sjX7YSy6q6qx6M-cH6yC-tKuVYtb4_RtfFsLn_cmH5kM_NIszVUsCWlDXSgBBuYWq8r9M0zWpqWqTGR-680N2Iw9SUE6a0N1l59AW8t6R9UXcni4NNs1uE/s1600/HEART+VINTAGE+ANGELA.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7ew2w_rD8miA2g4u1TasKC8sjX7YSy6q6qx6M-cH6yC-tKuVYtb4_RtfFsLn_cmH5kM_NIszVUsCWlDXSgBBuYWq8r9M0zWpqWqTGR-680N2Iw9SUE6a0N1l59AW8t6R9UXcni4NNs1uE/s320/HEART+VINTAGE+ANGELA.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I selected the best area for the pattern, wanting to be sure I could show the lovely flower pattern. Included with the fabric were several original fabric covered buttons. I just had to incorporate these into the finished keepsake. The vintage buttons made the keepsake heart complete. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As a finishing touch I added a new silk ribbon in aqua for a wonderful contrast.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The beauty of vintage fabric.....endures.</div>

Crisp. My husband and I decided to take a long walk at the local<br />
state park. With the cooler weather the trees are turning all the lovely autumn colors. Of course I forgot to bring my camera, but I did manage to pick up some acorns for <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/60672871/handmade-fabric-ornament-autumn-colors?ref=v1_other_1"> this shot.</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
On our way home my husband requested a big pot of chili. And that's exactly what he got....a big pot of chili! I made so much that I was able to freeze 8 quarts. I am ready for the next time he asks. <br />
<br />
Chilly ! Chili ! Yes, it is autumn here.<br />
<br />
Is it chilly or chili by you?Franniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02087127682932134017noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8403165233598080595.post-21259478290373714452011-09-25T16:19:00.000-04:002011-09-25T16:19:21.097-04:00The Big PumpkinEver see a little one try to pick up a huge pumpkin?<br />
That is what gave me the idea for this design. Matryoshka doll. Pumpkin. How cute is that !<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIlsSSuos2Lze2uifRytdWLOsY8sIYRHRFuBC3c9hKqwDI5ZdAtJV9FyEYZ1C9p0Awi6pTh_3CRZPJVjyAykU6CunSaXU2CtrUUpXt4YmgcnxlgoPugVveGVALAfKwNOEC8UhMfMSddAFq/s1600/IMG_5879.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIlsSSuos2Lze2uifRytdWLOsY8sIYRHRFuBC3c9hKqwDI5ZdAtJV9FyEYZ1C9p0Awi6pTh_3CRZPJVjyAykU6CunSaXU2CtrUUpXt4YmgcnxlgoPugVveGVALAfKwNOEC8UhMfMSddAFq/s1600/IMG_5879.JPG" /></a></div><br />
These delightful cards would make a great Halloween party invitation or a fun note to send someone.<br />
<br />
A set of two prints of my original Matryoshka doll illustration in watercolor and ink can be found <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/55895564/note-card-pumpkin-4-14-x-5-12-set-of-2">here.</a>Franniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02087127682932134017noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8403165233598080595.post-76769648447677080152011-07-29T04:56:00.000-04:002011-07-29T04:56:23.242-04:00Time for a coffee break!The local farmers market has the most fabulous roasted coffee beans. Two of my favorites are the Cinnamon Hazelnut and the Vanilla Hazelnut. Delightfully mellow aromas. The scents are subtle, but fragrant enough to lure you to your favorite reading nook and pick up a good book to read.<br />
<br />
I recently made a custom heart keepsake for a customer. It's for her husbands home office. I used a masculine fabric in paisley on one side and unbleached cotton on the other side. Then I added a wide brown ribbon. Dark French Roast coffee beans fill the inside of this keepsake heart, bold but not overwhelming.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDIKk-UrBXRo8K47yXQlPonFzqznN87TvuvK52qiHDPDvvc3kH2BCXsN1tBbtNJ2zr6yqnFIg6_cTLtdKx9G0uSNmg70KHoSNZEbd8uet-Su_Yuh8wmCZTE1ouO6AcFTtnk-2JgvZyGZbO/s1600/IMG_6792.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDIKk-UrBXRo8K47yXQlPonFzqznN87TvuvK52qiHDPDvvc3kH2BCXsN1tBbtNJ2zr6yqnFIg6_cTLtdKx9G0uSNmg70KHoSNZEbd8uet-Su_Yuh8wmCZTE1ouO6AcFTtnk-2JgvZyGZbO/s320/IMG_6792.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
The sachet can be placed on a small saucer with unbleached cotton side down. Over time the unbleached cotton will absorb the oils from the coffee beans and give the sachet a touch of Old World charm.<br />

<div><div><div>Yes, the wraps are green, that is from the spinach.
